Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By accessing Gloslyn (the website, Discord bot, dashboard, or related APIs), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Server administrators who install the bot are responsible for ensuring their use complies with Discord's terms and their community rules.
2. Service description
Gloslyn provides tools to configure multilingual Discord channels, translate messages, optionally manage glossaries and translation memory, view usage, and (when enabled) subscribe to paid plans. Features may be gated by plan or feature flags.
3. Discord dependency
The service depends on Discord's platform, APIs, and policies. Discord may change rate limits, intents, OAuth scopes, or availability. We are not Discord, Inc., and we do not control Discord outages or policy enforcement on your servers.
4. Beta status
Gloslyn is offered in beta. Brand name, domain, features, pricing, and hosting may change. Beta software may contain defects. Do not rely on it as the sole means of critical communication.
5. Account and administrator responsibilities
- You must have authority to add the bot and configure channels in servers you manage.
- You must inform members where translation or logging practices require disclosure.
- You are responsible for Discord permissions granted to the bot.
- Keep OAuth and dashboard access limited to trusted admins.
6. Acceptable use
You may use Gloslyn only for lawful purposes consistent with Discord's rules and these Terms.
7. Prohibited abuse
- Attempting to bypass plan limits, security controls, or billing.
- Using the service to harass, spam, scam, or distribute illegal content.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or attacking infrastructure beyond normal use.
- Submitting content you are not allowed to process through translation providers.
8. Translations and AI limitations
Automated translations can be incomplete, misleading, or culturally wrong — especially with gaming slang, memes, code, and mixed-language chat. Voice translation (when enabled) has additional latency and recognition errors. Do not treat output as certified, legal, medical, or safety-critical communication. We do not promise perfect accuracy or uninterrupted availability.
9. Third-party providers
Translation, speech, hosting, and payment features may rely on third parties (for example DeepL, LibreTranslate, OpenAI, Render, Stripe, Discord). Their outages or policy changes can affectGloslyn. Your use of those providers through our configuration may be subject to their terms.
10. Plans, usage limits, billing
Free and paid plans may impose character, server, or feature limits. When Stripe billing is configured, charges, renewals, invoices, and taxes are handled by Stripe. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals according to Stripe/plan rules; it does not automatically refund past periods.
Refunds, if any, are handled case-by-case via support during beta. No universal refund guarantee is made.
11. Availability and suspension
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features for maintenance, abuse, non-payment, legal risk, or operational need. We aim for reasonable notice when practicable but do not guarantee advance notice for emergencies or Discord-driven breaks.
12. Intellectual property
Gloslyn software, branding, and documentation are owned by the operator of Gloslyn (beta) or its licensors. You retain rights to your community content. By submitting content for translation, you grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the service.
13. Privacy
Personal data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of Gloslyn (beta) shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from use of the service. Aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid for the service in the three months before the claim or (b) fifty euros (€50), except where liability cannot be limited by applicable law.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms for future use.
